Offputting perfume

Mike from Olfactory Rescue Service said about the incenses in this line: "It should also be said that there’s a variant top oil note in most of these that imply a certain amount of perfumery, but it’s virtually the apex of this art and in many ways its justification."
This is the first one of the premium line I've encountered where I am not a fan of the perfumery. With the other ones I haven't even thought about it. But with this one it's obvious, stays in your mouth after it's burned out and reminds me of cheap perfumes. I'm really surprised because I've never had a bad experience from Shoyeido before, but I can't recommend this incense, it feels like I'm getting poisoned. I would 100% recommend Misho, Ohiya-koh, or Matsu-no-Tomo though. Of course, maybe it's just my nose.
